TEKPATL
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP & VISUAL STORYTELLING
I’m a Nawa artist based in Southern California. My methods are informed by the story-keeping tradition of the Tlakwilo who has been in charge of safeguarding Nawa narratives and life-ways for our people since the beginning of time.
My work aims to shed light on Indigenous reciprocity with and stewardship of the natural world. Through the documentation and the sharing of story, we are able to learn from past generations and teach next generations how to live in better harmony with Earth.
My work has appeared in Adobe, Nike, Levi’s, Storyblocks, and Discovery among others.
